Thekra (sometimes Zekra) was a Tunisian singer who was popular in Egypt and the Gulf. For about 10 years she recorded songs in these dialects and released many albums. In a strange and tragic event in 2003, she was machine gunned to death by her husband, who also killed his manager and finally himself.
