Another Mahmoud Darwish poem sung by Marcel Khalifa. This one is way over my head.
I saw your body
Carried on a zebra
And it was oozing colors
So I told them:
My body is there
So they closed off the courtyards of the country
We were small
And the trees were tall
And you were more beautiful than my mother
And from my country
Where did they come from?
Almond vines surround it
My family and your family
With the thorns and the liver
Indeed we think of the world,
In a hurry
So we don't see anyone
Crying over anyone
Your body was a captive
And my mouth was playing with a drop of honey
Above the mud of my hands
A song is in my mind
Oh sister
About my country
Sleep... So I can bury her
As a tattoo on my body
